A three day course, full of all my favourite things! These are learning and exploring days with the emphasis on nosework and related skills. If you have never done nosework before, then this is a great place to start. If you are already a nosework addict, then come along and learn a few new twists to add to your skills. You and your dog will receive massive benefits over the course of the three days.
Dogs who may not be comfortable around other dogs, or dogs that are sensitive in other ways can also be included, just contact me to talk over how we can provide a safe environment in which they can learn and enjoy the activity. Acknowledging that all dogs just like people, are individuals, these practical learning days invite you and your canine friend to begin a journey of mutual discovery and exploration.
Learn skills and strategies to enrich and empower your relationship and have the opportunity to spend time practising and implementing those skills to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of your canine companion.
Your dog will be encouraged to explore and use their nose right from the outset and then will be introduced to a specific scent. Together you will have the opportunity to start working on a passive indication or improving on your existing indication, using the methodology as taught by UKCSD.(UK College of Scent Dogs) You will learn about how scent works, free searches, blind searches, how to put out hides and start to develop your observational skills. Indulge your dog's love of using his/her nose and learn how to channel their natural behaviour into an activity you both can enjoy. Dogs of any age can take part and no previous experience is necessary.
