K9 Sense-Ability Animal Centred Education (ACE) One Day Workshop
Offering a firm foundation on which to build trust and mutual understanding between you and the canine in your care. We concentrate on highlighting your dogs senses of smell and sensory awareness. We teach Animal Centred Education (ACE) Techniques. (as developed by Sarah Fisher) These explore the huge benefits of 'free work', develop your observational skills and introduce some of the Tellington Ttouch bodywork elements. Also incorporating games of engagement such as The Bucket Game and The Counting Game(as developed by Chirag Patel)
Develop your K9 Sense-Ability; a code of practice that when used on a daily basis, will enhance your relationship with your canine companion and regularly set you both up for success. This workshop is aimed at professionals and carers, with discounted places for those who work in rescue organisations. Offering takeaway skills and mindful thinking techniques that will encourage and empower guardians with their own dogs or those in their care. By teaching how to spot small differences and learning how to gather relevant information, each person will be enabled to feel their worth. By working as a team and creating an accessible knowledge base, each member will play an integral part in developing the most effective care programme possible within their environment. Dogs that find themselves in rescue organisations inevitably come with a story and possibly as a result, they arrive with behaviours that need modifying. For dogs of any age or ability and with whatever the problem, this workshop will offer the tools to open communication. By taking small steps and learning mindful methods of engagement, we can begin to rehabilitate at a pace that each dog can manage.
Dogs of any age can take part and no previous experience is necessary. Dogs who may not be comfortable around other dogs, or dogs that are sensitive in other ways can also be included, just contact me to talk over how we can provide a safe environment in which they can learn and enjoy the activity. We explain how to develop handling skills and emphasise the importance of education. We demonstrate techniques and coach in how to use them. You will take away skills and ideas to use in your place of work.
