Teaching skills and strategies for a lifetime bond with your dog.
Anxiety, stress and over excitement slow the learning processes in both dogs and humans. My learning packages are designed to begin with you and your dog learning together in the comfort and familiar environment of your own home. Once you are confident with your skills we can then take them into the big wide world together.
Today, your dog is expected to have social etiquette around humans and other dogs: a code of conduct that will enable them to make good choices, be safe and not get themselves into trouble.
Just like us, dogs are individuals, they have varying rates of learning, differing physical attributes, genetic predispositions, sensitivities and numerous other aspects that contribute to their learning abilities.
This is why my teaching is tailored to fit the need of each dog and their guardian. Imagine skills like tools, and strategies rather like an instruction manual. Just like any DIY project, having the right tools gives you the confidence to take on the job. The knowledge that you have the right equipment to deal with any eventuality, offers you peace of mind and courage to commit to the task.
At Four Paws Learning my aim is to teach, empower and motivate you and your dog by equipping you with a range of skills (tools) and help you to practise how to use them in the real world.
From the minute we start our learning journey together I offer support, encouragement and advice by email, telephone or on line. Once you are confident in using your skills, there is then the option to join with weekly walks and/or monthly training groups. Group numbers are kept small and managed mindfully according to the needs of individual dogs and their guardians.
I also run workshops so you can keep those skills up to date and enjoy fun learning with other like minded people.
You will receive all the help and support you need to achieve your goals and be equipped with the skills to feel happy and confident when you are out and about together with your canine companion.
Results are achieved by working together, taking the time, and making the effort.
